Cottages in Brixham

Brixham is a vibrant fishing village on the edge of Torbay in South Devon. As part of the English Riviera, the area is known for its sunny climes and green surroundings that give it a French essence here in the UK. Our cottages in Brixham cover the length and breadth of this picturesque enclave and cover a range of holiday needs and wants. Are you looking for a retreat for two to whisk away your loved one, or are you looking for a larger property accommodating up to eight or more guests? Whatever the size of your holiday troop, we have you covered. Many of our Brixham holiday cottages are also dog-friendly, welcoming one or more pets. The area also boasts several luxury accommodations, meaning that they come with every amenity you would expect from a modern holiday home, along with some extra-special features that can include games rooms, hot tubs and even pools.

Brixham is an ideal holiday destination because it has a little bit of everything: blue seas, sandy beaches, museums and family-friendly experiences, amazing restaurants and friendly pubs.

If you’re into your walks then you have to visit the marvelous Berry Head National Nature Reserve. With a wealth of flora and fauna and a deep history, including ties to the Napoleonic Wars, Berry Head is a fascinating place with a lot going on. As the gateway to the UNESCO Global Geopark, Berry Head attracts outdoorsy folk from all over the country and the wider area of Torbay is ripe for exploration on foot, by kayak, via coasteering and just about any adrenaline fueled mode of transport you can think of. If you love the outdoors but prefer a slower pace to life then don’t worry, as Berry Head and the surrounding coast is just as enjoyable to see through a gentle stroll and lots of tea and coffee stops along the way.

There are a number of beaches surrounding Brixham. Next to Brixham harbour is Breakwater Beach, a Blue Flag beach that proves popular with everyone who visits. Great for families, Breakwater Beach offers all the ingredients for the perfect beach day, including clean and safe water. Broadsands Beach is similar and has a row of very cute beach huts and a pitch and put nearby. St Mary’s Bay is on the south side of Brixham and is a large, sand and shingle beach that can be accessed by the coast path from Beachy Head and Churlston Cove is also on the path. These coves are so beautiful but can very hard to access, particularly in bad weather so we wouldn’t recommend them for wheelchair or pushchair users.

Brixham is also a very artistic place and on a good weather day, you’ll spot many artists working at Artist’s Corner on the strand. Dotted with art galleries, restaurants, pubs and shops, Brixham is a lovely place to be in all senses and a trip here is guaranteed to stay with you for a lifetime.
